Robert (Bob) Brooks is the former Vice Chair and Group Treasurer of the Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS). Over his fourty-one-year career at BNS, Bob held increasingly senior positions including those in Finance (Comptroller and Chief Accountant), Investment Banking (Executive Vice President), and Risk Management / Operations Treasury (Senior Executive Vice President, Treasury and Operations and then Vice Chairman and Group Treasurer). Bob was also a director with a number of BNS subsidiaries including Scotia Discount Brokerage, Scotia Life Insurance Company, ScotiaMcLeod, and Scotia Cassels Investment Counsel. Bob is currently a director with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Integrated Asset Management (TSX:IAM) and Hamilton Capital Partners.
Bob has also been actively engaged in community service, having served as the President of the Empire Club of Canada, the board chair of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario and the board chair of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. Bob has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario.
