R.J. (Jack) Thrasher has over 40 years of experience in corporate, business and energy law. He practised with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP from 1995 until his retirement at the end of 2015. Jack served as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Jack has represented some of North America’s largest corporations working on all aspects of structuring, financing, management and operation of complex projects and transactions (both international and domestic) as well as restructurings, investments, acquisitions, dispositions and dispute resolution.
He has also had extensive experience in governance and business conduct issues as a member of, and adviser to, corporate and not-for-profit boards. Jack has been actively engaged in community service, having served as a board member or advisory board member of Glenbow Museum (board chair), the Calgary Salvation Army (advisory board chair), the Alberta Children’s Hospital, the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, and Calgary Legal Guidance.
Jack has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Saskatchewan and Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School. He clerked with the Honourable Mr. Justice Ronald Martland of the Supreme Court of Canada.
